Most of the buildings in the Orange Square or Plaza de los Naranjos were built between 1485 and 1568.

The sand stone Orange Square Fountain was erected in 1504 and commissioned by the first Mayor of Christian Marbella.

The building to the right of the fountain is the Chapel of Santiago or Ermita de Santiago. See inside Ermita de Santiago Chapel.

The Chapel of Santiago is the first church of Marbella and was also constructed inthe 15th century. Cristo del Amor y la Virgen de la Caridad are kept here.

A small white stone Statue of Santiago, who was the Apostle Saint James, is outside on the wall of the chapel.

Looking behind the fountain is Calle Nueva, 'New Street' which is many hundreds of years old.
