The Course.

This year saw the introduction of the Le Mans racing start. All crews began the actual race up near the restaurants and then ran down to the shore and their waiting boats.

There are two course options in the race.
It is up to the boat's crew to choose which option is the more strategic.

Long course option.
Boats are to sail around two buoys, A & B, in any order.Back to the home page.

Short course option.
Boats are to sail around buoy, A.

Double race points earned for taking long course option.

Point of interest:
Boats that are better built tend to do well in the race. The more imaginative boats tend to be less seaworthy.
Therefore a long, short race option gives the more imaginative boats a better chance to gain a good place result, and so points by taking the shorter, quicker option.

The Fight.

In the past, immediately after the race, some boats returned to sea to battle it out. This can involve flour bombs, small balloons filled with odd liquids, water guns or pistols, buckets of water and other wet works.
Anything goes
except, Ramming, throwing eggs or cutting up other boats. Keep the fight safe and fun.The Hat

The Basura.

The basura, (trash), problem is the only negative aspect of the race.
Inevitably at days end there will be broken boats and other rubbish spread uniformly over the whole beach.
It is vital that
all rubbish and boat waste be disposed of at the correct site. This site will be pointed out to you on the day.
So please, everyone help. Pick up anything that is yours, and then some.
