Puerto Banus or Puerto José Banús is the main port of Marbella's three boating marinas. It is situated 6 kilometers west of Marbella Town, and is simply known as Banus or The Port.
Puerto Banus is part of the municipality of Marbella and one of the most prestigious ports in Spain. It is visited by approximately 4.5 million people per year.
The water depth of the Banus entrance is 7.5 meters and its width is 80 meters. The marina's surface area is 15 hectares and berths' depth range from 3 to 6 meters and from 8 to 50 meters in length, and the anchorage is sandy.
Marbella became famous in the 1960s and then Puerto Banus in the 1970s when the jet set and the rich and famous began to spend their quality time here. And because it's a really good place to keep big boats.
Today there are billions of Euros of yachts afloat in Banus, spread over 915 berths from Quay Zero on Muelle Benabola, Benabola Wharf or the Honour Wharf, where there is no boat under a million euros, to quay eight's speed and week-end craft, See Quay Seven, and the dry dock boat and yachtworks.
