| Welcome to the quick virtual tour of Puerto Banus, Marbella, Costa del Sol, Spain. |
Puerto Banus or Puerto José Banús is the main port of Marbella's three boating marinas. It is situated 6 kilometers west of Marbella Town, and is simply known as Banus or The Port. Situated on Muelle Benabola, Quay Zero or the Honour Wharf is where the largest most luxurious yachts are berthed. At the south end of the quay is the Puerto Banus Control Tower and Club de mar de Puerto Banus, The Sea Club. The shopping in Puerto Banus is excellent, and in Marbella town, with hundreds of shops and boutiques in and around The Port, that provides a huge selection of just about anything you could want. This is the east end of the marina where the smaller boats are berthed. Also situated at this end is the dry dock boatworks. Playa Levante is 500 meters long by 300 meters wide and holds a European blue flag for beach quality. From here you can walk along the beach for 6 kilometers without obstical to Marbella Town. On the east side of Puerto Banus is a giant statue that overlooks Playa Levante, Levante Beach. The statue is known as La Victoria or Victory (also Levante Statue). Overlooking Marbella is the magnificent La Concha Mountain, The Shell Mountain. This is a classic shot of Mt Concha taken in 1968, during the constuction of Puerto Banus. La Concha is Marbella's most distinguishing icon and is most striking when seen from Puerto Banus. Water and electricity connection are available for all moorings. On larger moorings, above 15 meters in length, TV and phone connections are available. Banus has been a home berth, or a regular berth, of some of the biggest luxury yachts. Boat rentals and yacht charters are available from various yacht brokers and agents located around the port. The price of a charter depends on the size of boat, on a daily basis. This is the main entrance of Puerto Banus. These front line streets are the best places to watch people and to be seen, day or night, and to watch out for celebrities! |
